Castle Inn Apartments are 6 modern self-catering apartments and 2 self catering cottages with a stunning location along the shorefront in Greencastle, Co Donegal. Located beside the historic Norburg Castle, the apartments enjoy breathtaking views over Lough Foyle towards Magilligan Point and Binevenagh Mountain in Co Derry.
Modern Apartments
There are 6 self-catering apartments in total – 3 on the ground floor and 3 on the first floor. Each apartment has a large bright open plan area with kitchen, dining and living spaces. On the first floor, the open plan area has double glass doors out to a furnished balcony with beautiful sea views. On the ground floor, the open plan area opens out to a large paved patio area overlooking Lough Foyle. Each apartment has an ensuite double bedroom, an ensuite twin bedroom and a single bedroom with an adjacent toilet. There is an enclosed yard to the back of the apartments and ample parking to the front.
Accommodation in each of the apartments is as follows:
- Bedroom 1: Double Bedroom - large ensuite shower room
- Bedroom 2: Twin Bedroom - ensuite shower
- Bedroom 3: Single bedroom
There is also a separate toilet adjacent to the single bedroom.
Cottages
There are 2 self catering cottages in total just to the side of the apartments. Each cottage has a large open plan kitchen and dining space, a separate modern cosy living room and a ground floor double bedroom. There are a further three bedrooms upstairs along with a family bathroom. There is an enclosed back yard at each of the cottages also.
Greencastle - An Ideal Touring Base
The village of Greencastle itself has a bustling and colourful harbour with fishing vessels, pleasure boats and the Lough Foyle Ferry coming and going on a regular basis. The fishing boats provide the fresh fish that has made Kealys Seafood Bar famous. The regions rich maritime history is depicted in the Inishowen Maritime Museum located on the waterfront. There is a wonderfully scenic shore walk from Greencastle to the nearby town of Moville. A shorter coastal footpath passes northwards in front of the apartments.
Stunning Coastal Location
The apartments and cottaegs are just a few minutes stroll from the centre of Greencastle and its busy harbour. The scenic Greencastle Golf Club is 2.5km away and the wonderful Stroove Blue flag Beach is 4km to the north. The Apartments are located along the Wild Atlantic Way and are 28km from the historic Walled City of Derry and 32km from the internationally renowned Ballyliffin Golf Club – venue for the 2018 Irish Open. The Lough Foyle Ferry from Greencastle to Magilligan only takes 10 minutes and provides easy access to the beautiful North Coast of Northern Ireland.
